the great thing is there will be plenty of casuals who will end up halfway to max Party , then they have a choice whether to buy their way to max title or not.

I dont understand why everyone is complaining about the increased rewards. For years people have complained that the costs to get these titles is too high. The change in rewards benefits those who are actually pursuing the title without benefiting those grinding the quests for cash.
Supply goes up, demand goes down, price goes down. Simple economics.

I'm pretty sure the increased rewards are for players to max their titles, not help you get rich.
Even though Frosty Tonics/Wintersday Gifts will be dirt cheap, you will still be able to make a few hundred platinum just from farming(SD) an hour or two a day during this event. That still leaves plenty of time for the other enjoyable wintersday festivities, which also give you rewards.

Last time I checked, you needed at least one shard to participate in the x-mas finalle and get the hat, but still.

The problem ( i guess ) is how ridiculously easily you can get titles for a few months compared to how you could in the past .
Remember people who did r12 kurzic in AB compared to farming easily MTSC now.
Remember for festive items and compare to this quest now ...
Remember for gold items and compare it to raptor or vaettir farm( ok but that's older though)...
What i mean is that it's more likely centering people on playing alone instead of team. Instead of trading , people now rather go play either their sc area without talking at all , either complete their title on their own ( future with 7 heroes too..) . What is gonna be next , some scroll to complete directly HM area??

Price goes down, no one farms anymore as it is not profitable, existing stock goes back up in value and people start farming again.simple economics, talking about it won't change a thing and there is nothing u can do about it

Rewards you get from wintersday gifts are worth less, but you get 5x more gifts per quest. Where is the problem?

Way i see it after a few years of wintersday - farming sd for ccs started to get boring after a while because i was going after gifts.Gifts as a reward i feel is better as it cuts down the grind as i get the gifts i need.

Nope. Don't even need one shard for the hat. The shards are just for betting to support grenth or dwayna. Once either god wins everyone in town gets that god's hat.

You can get one shard from the kids in the area when you give them a gift (excepting from one in LA, that gives green wintersday gifts) or from a drop or winning a snowball fight.
There's no problem with changing the rewards to gifts.

from what I remember...for the Grenth versus Dwayne contest on Jan 01, we need CC shards to play. If your circle lost, you lost your cc shard. If your circle won, you gained some shards. Plus playing once gained a hat. So I did once for Dwayna, and once for Grenth, then parked myself in a circle for the remainder of the 24 hour period. I think I needed about 45 shards to ensure I had enough to tide me over during a losing streak. Then the next day, went and turned in all my shards for rainbow candy or whatever. But...I didn't take notes, so this is just an estimate.

You do need shards to play but you do not need to play to get the hat. you just need to be in the district at the time the hats are given out.
